Your EU size is roughly your foot length in centimetres plus 31 to 32. That single sum settles most sizing arguments, and everything below is the detail around it.
Sneakers in Pakistan arrive labelled in a mix of EU, UK and US sizes depending on where they were made and who imported them. The numbers are not interchangeable, and a UK 8 is not a US 8. Here is the whole picture in one place.
The conversion chart
| EU | UK | US (men) | Foot length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 39 | 6 | 7 | 24.5 cm |
| 40 | 6.5 | 7.5 | 25 cm |
| 40.5 | 7 | 8 | 25.5 cm |
| 41 | 7.5 | 8.5 | 26 cm |
| 42 | 8 | 9 | 26.5 cm |
| 42.5 | 8.5 | 9.5 | 27 cm |
| 43 | 9 | 10 | 27.5 cm |
| 44 | 9.5 | 10.5 | 28 cm |
| 44.5 | 10 | 11 | 28.5 cm |
| 45 | 10.5 | 11.5 | 29 cm |
| 46 | 11 | 12 | 29.5 cm |
Note the gap that catches people out: US sizes run one number above UK sizes. If a listing says "9" with no system attached, the difference between reading that as UK and reading it as US is a full centimetre of shoe.
Measure, do not guess
The chart is only as good as the number you bring to it. Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure from the wall edge to the mark. Do both feet and use the longer one.
Two things worth doing properly: measure late in the day, when your feet are at their largest, and measure in the socks you would actually wear with the shoes. Our 30-second sizing method walks through it step by step.
Why the same number still fits differently
A size is a length, not a shape. Two shoes labelled EU 42 can differ noticeably in width, toe box height and how much the heel holds you, which is why an Air Force 1 and a running shoe in the same size feel nothing alike.
Brand matters too. We have written separately about why your Nike size is not your adidas size, and about whether the Air Force 1 runs big, which is the single most-asked sizing question we get.
How sizes are shown on REKIX
Every listing shows the EU size with the UK size beside it, so there is nothing to convert while you shop. Where we know a particular pair runs short, long or narrow, the fit note on that listing says so.
And if the measurement still lets you down, you have 7 days to send it back for a full refund. The refund policy sets out exactly how.
