Find your EU size in 30 seconds

Most pairs here exist once, in one size. That makes getting the size right the most useful thing you can do before ordering, and it takes about half a minute.

What you need

A sheet of A4 paper, a pen, a ruler and a wall.

The measurement

  1. Put the paper on a hard floor with one edge against the wall.
  2. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall, weight on that foot.
  3. Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe. It is not always the big toe.
  4. Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark, in centimetres.
  5. Do the other foot as well. They are rarely identical, and you order for the longer one.

Turning centimetres into an EU size

As a rough guide, your EU size is your foot length in centimetres plus about 31 to 32. A 26 cm foot usually lands on an EU 41 or 42. For the full table, including UK and US columns, see our shoe size conversion chart.

Measure late in the day, when your feet are at their largest, and measure in the socks you would actually wear with the shoes.

A few honest notes

  • Different models fit differently. A court shoe with a narrow toe box runs shorter than a running shoe of the same stated size. The Air Force 1 runs about half a size large, and adidas runs smaller than Nike.
  • Where we know a pair runs short or narrow, the fit note on that listing says so.
  • Every listing shows the EU size with the UK size beside it, so there is nothing for you to convert.

If it still is not right, you have 7 days to send it back for a full refund. The refund policy explains exactly how.
